Using SYMBICORT as Prescribed
SYMBICORT: 2 puffs, twice a day, as prescribed
It is important to take SYMBICORT as prescribed by your doctor as part of your COPD treatment plan.
SYMBICORT is a maintenance medication that helps significantly improve lung function, starting within
5 minutes.* Remember, SYMBICORT will not replace a rescue inhaler for sudden symptoms.
SYMBICORT helps make a significant difference in breathing* so you can do more of the things you want to do.
*Individual results may vary.
To use SYMBICORT effectively, follow these steps:
- Take 2 puffs twice a day, morning and evening, every day
- Do not take more than 4 puffs per day
- Do not use more than twice a day
- Your inhaler should last you 30 days if you are taking 2 puffs twice a day

Refills
The actuation counter on top of your inhaler will monitor the amount of medication remaining, and help you know when it is time to refill your prescription.
All patients taking SYMBICORT should read the SYMBICORT Medication Guide
(PDF) with each new prescription and with each new refill.
While taking SYMBICORT, never use any other medicines containing a long-acting beta2-agonist
(LABA) such as formoterol or salmeterol, for any reason.
